A four-day weekend looms in the United States; and all over This Great Land of Ours fantasies revolving around turkey gravy and uninterrupted access to pie dance between our ears and beg the question “Can I get you anything else?”

Well we are just all over the place with this weekend’s prediction, aren’t we?
I’m sorry – has this been explained to you?
You see, on the day before the weekend starts (you start yours when you like and I’ll start mine), I turn to my commuting companion the iPod and use the songs I hear on my way to work to determine what’s in my immediate future.
And this? The mess o’ links you see before you today? What it says to me is that I have 15 people coming for dinner tomorrow and don’t know where my potato peeler is.
OK. That’s a lie. I know where my potato peeler is. It’s in the drawer next to a jar of buttons, behind the recycling schedule but in front of the seam-ripper…
Speaking of seam-rippers, if I do what I plan to do and attempt the mythical “third helping” tomorrow, I’d like to switch my request to be entombed in a Tupperware container of Buffalo wing sauce to one full of turkey gravy.
It’s just more festive.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. There’s much to be grateful for.
* Love this woman's voice! If you listen, go to the three-minute song, not the one-minute one listed above it...

Happy Thanksgiving, Pearl.
Can I borrow your potato peeler...I cant find mine.
My husband just sent me a text to ask we if have a pie pan. Ummm...do you recall the last time I made you homemade pie? I believe the date was never.
Happy Thanksgiving, Pearl. Enjoy that third helping....it will be an event to remember.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving Pearl...
As always, you rock :)
Peace ~ Rene
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.;) xo
I'm so glad I'll be going to someone else's house for dinner. Happy Thanksgiving, Pearl...
Wow. Stopped in my tracks by the Judas Priest version of Diamonds and Rust! Guess I'm always going to be a fan of the original Joan Baez version, although I never can resist a snarky comment midway through. (This line doesn't seem to be in the online Judas Priest version.)
"As I remember, your eyes were bluer than robin's eggs...My poetry was lousy you said..."
I just hafta say, every time, "Yes, Joan, you just proved it."
I forgive her, though. Whatta voice.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Very true.
So much to be thankful for!
Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Ciao,
Elise
Gravy is good.
Still don't know what or if we're doing Thanksgiving tomorrow. My Dad has called (thank God for voice mail) and I'm kind of breaking down regarding doing something at home or going out. At least my near-breakdown over the lack of family get-togethers has motivated hubby to try to rally the troops on his side. I think I'll call my brother, just to be friendly and all and see how his business is going.
Hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving - and I'm envious of your family get-together.
I must admit to total ignorance with the whole Thanksgiving thing.
Pass the white meat, please. And the cranberries. And, okay, everything else. Later, I will be comatose on the sofa. Thanksgiving is wonderful and then there's the two weeks of turkey leftover dishes. What a great holiday!
Happy Thanksgiving, Pearl!
Happy Thanksgiving to you. I still think Americans should be sensible and have theirs in October like Canadians do rather than stuck smack-dab up next to Christmas. Just too much stress for me.
Have a fantastic Thanksgiving.
I am sure you will find a use for the seam ripper tomorrow that is right next to the potato peeler!
Have a good one!

Pink Martini Absolutly rocks! I was very supprized to see them pop up on your play list! That is simply awesome...
Happy thanks giving indeed. It is wonderful to read and connect up with you and get a glimpse of a 'foreign' life ! But then you realise that 'foreign' is a very relative term !
A very happy thanksgiving ! Indeed !
I believe the date was never.

Husband = potato peeler!
My potato peelers keep getting lost in kitchen drawers so I keep buying another one so now I have 3 or 4 of them.
Happy Thanksgiving, Pearlie!
