It’s a good thing it’s Monday. I need the rest.
After a short and unproductive foray into garage sale country (stained t-shirts, garages full of baby clothes/monitors/books, over-priced twine), I have to admit that, outside of some light housework, I spent Sunday on the couch.
This last weekend was the Art-A-Whirl weekend; and the collective Friday and Saturday night gatherings at Kurt and Kathy’s house left my brain functioning on only the most basic of levels: breathing, swallowing, remote-control-button-pushing.
And blogging. Ha ha.
And so I write to you from the foggy banks of Sunday evening for a 9:00 a.m. posting Monday morning. Socially satisfied, craving a thin-crust pepperoni pizza, and contemplating the unleashing of my summer wardrobe, I cling to the threads of the weekend.
Don’t go! Don’t go! I cry.
Ah, well, that’s what happens in the summer, isn’t it? A little taco dip, a six-pack or two, cheerful people on the deck and the next thing you know it’s Sunday night and you’re wondering what to wear to work tomorrow morning.
I’m glad it’s Monday. I’ll need the work week to get ready for the weekend.

Sunday night blues eh? As a shift worker, that's one of the few things I don't miss about the weekday rigmarole.
Wait...it's Monday night...where the heck are ya, Pearl? :)
That is the finest thing about being retired. Sunday nights! No bemoaning regarding having to go to work on Monday. In fact, I think Mondays are now one of my favorite days.
Yeah, I know your response: (Bite me).
I know because that is what I used to think. ha
I also yard saled!
Fun stuff....I'm going to post on it today.
Happy Monday Sunday Head!
:)
taco dips and six packs are my summer wardrobe's enemy! but i live in a very hot part of the country where to run around town as naked as possible is more of a matter of practicality than a statement of one's skankhood.
I sure do love the weekends, but it DOES seem like I was just getting off work on Friday looking forward to spending my weekend with my remote control. And come to think of it...that is exactly what I did! Can't wait for next weekend!
Very amusing post! And too true.. You'll need the week to recover from the weekend, methinks...
Man oh man, I need a thin crust pepperoni pizza TOO!!!
That is one of the hard facts of life, "The Weekend Magic". Now you see it and now ya don't.
I vote that God removes a few dreamy sprinkles so we can all enjoy it a bit more.
There's nothing wrong with looking forward to getting the week going so you can get to the weekend. Nothing at all.
The Jules, I just want to know where the magic number “40” came into play insofar as the work week goes, you know what I mean?
Braja, you’re always one ahead of me!
The Retired One, I would never say “bite me”. No, wait. Yes I would. :-D Wonder if I’ll get to retire?!
Sweet Cheeks, anything good? I’ll be stopping by…
Bex, oh, I can’t wait for the temperatures to go up here!
Jess, weekends are just so short. How are we ever going to get enough weekend?!
Ladyfi, and so it begins again: the slide into the weekend.
Charmaine, I had one delivered. :-D It was thin, greasy deliciousness.
whatan@hole, and when it’s summer it’s even worse. All the parties, showers, weddings, camping trips, BBQs. It’s exhausting being friendly. I really gotta stop…
Blogging Mama Andrea, riding this week out is what Memorial Day Weekend is all about, isn’t it?! Just four more days to a three-day weekend!!
Pearl I'm coming over with some Ro-Tel and some 40's...
And something to grill...you got a grill right?
Peace - Rene
Hey, if you couldn't find anything at a garage sale, you need to check out Candy's mom's basement.

Hmmm ... today, while being termned Monday, by freaky fascists ... is actually my 'Friday', because I'm not fanatical about weekday names. Right ON!!! I'm easy going like that. Have a terrific week.
blessings!
Get on the Bus Pearl! Hope you have recovered from your weekend and from Monday :-)
BBQ stain t-shirts don't work for you Pearl..LOL
You should hook up with the royal family.
We had a long week-end for Victoria Day here in the Great White North. : )
As long as you've still got a couch you can survive anything, that's what I say.
I am with The Retired One on this. Definitely! (Smug, I am!)
