Bath Tub Surprises

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again.  I do like a bath.

And that’s where I was, Sunday night, when I had the strangest experience.

Aside from what you may have heard, I’m not accustomed to strange experiences in tubs.  True, I once bathed in oatmeal – not sure I did it right, as I needed a brisk shower afterwards.  I also once took a quivering, ice-cold bath after a quivering, ice-cold motorcycle run.  Didn’t warm up until morning.

Outside of that, the tub and I have a good relationship.

So there I was, Sunday night, fingers slowly pruning, my toes pushing up through bubble kingdoms.  Hot, steamy, relaxing – and the thought bursts forth: “Oh, no!  My watch!”

My watch?

That’s sobering. The last time I wore a wristwatch it was 1992.  It disappeared during a vacation, after a friend decided that I had checked it one too many times.

She asked to see it, I handed it over, and she threw it into the ocean.

That Cheryl.

And now, many years later, the ghost of this watch appears in my bathroom.

Holy Hannah.  What is it time for?

I am always worried that I am wearing my glasses in the shower.

I never have, though, so I am not sure why i worry.

May all your weird thoughts be waterproof!!

I don't normally wear a watch but when I do, it's waterproof! Hot baths are probably cherished in winter in MN!

Some are weirder and more wonderful than others...

The killer watch is returning to seek revenge against Cheryl...and there is nothing you can do about it!

I hope I live long enough to see the unravelling of the mysteries of the brain. It's strange what will pop into our heads, as you just showed.

What is it time for? It's time for Cheryl to replace your watch!!

You bathed in oatmeal too? I found it easier to consume from a bowl.

I don't wear a watch. I have too many other things that tell the time easily available. I'm not that interested.

If I were you, I'd keep your cell phone in your pocket while around Cheryl!

I once got in the shower with glasses and thought I had cataracts. Maybe your flashback was a reminder to go to the ocean

quivering - is a thing that people practice? that's weird.
I'm glad you had the time to share this timely story

The watch has been replaced with the Fitbit. Only people with OCD need either of these. Live free and picture your watch at the bottom of the sea with the Titanic.

A bath is a gift from the gods. I sometimes enjoy a glass of fine wine when I take a bath. That would not work with a shower.

I do love a bath, too. However, with only one bathroom in our house, even when I ask the other occupant to evacuate their whatevers so I can take a long, luxurious and uninterrupted bath... still, there is a knocking on the door at some point with a shout of, "I've got to use it!"

Sigh.

She threw a perfectly good watch into the ocean??
Could have just shoved it in her pocket for the rest of the day.
Perhaps the thought means Cheryl is about to pop back into your life.
i miss baths, only have a shower cubicle here.

Of all the things to think of while in a luxurious bath, a watch is at the bottom of my list. A romantic encounter from the past, a few "hot" actors or singers, a passionate scene from a movie or book, ...guess you can tell a hot bath makes me, we, uh...hot! Unfortunately the only tub in this place is about 10 inches deep and not like the humongous soaker tub I used to have. SIGH...

I haven't worn a watch for several years, ever since I started carrying a cell phone. Cheryl is a bit extreme and overly dramatic, I think. :) The hot bubble bath sounds divine. Winter has arrived here with a vengeance.
