... And You Sop the Whole Thing Up with One of those Hawaiian-Style Rolls...

A four-day weekend has engulfed the United States; and all over This Great Land of Ours fantasies involving turkey gravy and uninterrupted access to pie dance between our ears and beg the question “Can I get you anything else?”

And from sea to shining sea, people are leaning back in their chairs and saying, "You know, don't mind if I do..."

Welcome to Thanksgiving weekend, a chance to reconnect with friends, family, and, in extreme cases, the need for an elastic waistband.

Speaking of elastic, if I do what I plan to do and attempt the mythical “third helping” tomorrow, I’d like to switch my request to be entombed in a Tupperware container full of Buffalo wing sauce to one full of turkey gravy.

It’s just more festive.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. There’s much to be grateful for.

Over the last week or so I've heard the gulping of millions of turkeys and thought 'It must be Thanksgiving again over there'.

I'll sit here waiting for my can of soup to warm up and think of you all suffering, stretching and, quite possibly, bursting as I eat it.

Enjoy!

Whew, nearly had a heart attack this morning! You didn't show up in my reader! T'was merely a glitch in my own head, not to worry. And it made me realize that your daily posts are on of those things for which I am grateful.

This brings to mind a recent FB posting of yours : )

Happy Thanks Giving America, I'm over here celebrating for you by pissing the day away in front of the fire, surfing the webs.

In my defense though, I did first split the wood I'm burning, and stack it very, very neatly.

Mythical 'third helping' - girl, that is just crazy talk. Please only attempt something that dangerous with a professionally trained spotter. Some wounds just never heal properly if you do enough damage the first time. But by gum you would be a magnificent bastard if you could pull it off. It would be the only things you could pull off that would make me respect/admire you more than I already do now.

Forget Thanksgiving, I need an elastic waistband with every meal!!
I'm not a fan of Turkey, but I do like pie.
We don't do Thanksgiving in Australia, but we love reading about it.

for the first time I nearly went out on black friday to do some shopping - this morning i thought better of it saying to myself that the sales simply weren't worth the crowds - although since I walk with a cane I could beat the crowds back successfully.
