Would You Like Oxygen Pumped Into Your Room, As Well?

It was with some horror that I discovered upon checking into the Marriott early Thursday afternoon that I was without the interwebs.

What kind of place makes you pay for the World Wide Web?

I damn-near spit out my margarita.

I suppose that next I’ll be tipping my charwoman for a bit of extra coal for the fire. Perhaps for an extra farthing I won’t have to stand in line but can have the bathwater first…

I love staying in hotels – and yes, I’ve seen the news articles regarding the origin of the stains on the bedspread. I don’t care – as long as I can’t see it, it’s not there.

Hence the margarita.

I’ve also been known to eat hot dogs, too; so maybe I just have a death wish.

At any rate, we write, we save, we run to the University of Dayton in the morning and post.

And we’ll just have to be interwebs-free for the night.

I’m scared!

Hold me.

That gives you all the more time for thinking up hilarious commentaries at night. So now we all have great anticipation for each morning's post.

Just don't go to the Business Center at the Marriott. They charge $ .99 a minute. Yep. That's $60 an hour just to check your email if you forget to bring your laptop. Have a great weekend. Cheers!

I agree with Pat, just more time to think up stories to make us laugh til we wheeze, snort and tickle our pants!

We stay at the higher rated hotels...and have to pay for internet....we also stay at Quality Inn or some of the other less expensive places and get free internet. What's up with that?????

Do NOT sit on the bedspread.

Whenever I travel on business, we stay in the best hotels. And STILL I have to pay for Internet. So usually I don't cuz it's a big pain in the butt to get it working.

My one consolation for traveling is HBO. It's like a secret indulgence since I don't get it at home. When asked to dinner, I say I'm sorry, I'm so tired tonight. And then . . . I sneak off to my room, call room service, and turn down the lights. And then? It's just me and my HBO.

How appropriate that you mention hot dogs as we are just getting ready to sit down and have hot dogs for lunch. Alas, no margaritas. :(

I'm sure there is a direct correlation between room price and internet price. Comfy Inns offer it free. As you move higher up, you can expect to pay more and more. Same goes for a parking space. It's not enough that they can get 3+ bills out of you to camp out a night in Chicago, they'll charge you another 25 or 30 bucks to park. Dayton, I don't imagine, has that problem :) Enjoy your conference as I write this from another college at another writing conference.

No internet? I'm so glad I rarely travel now. At least you have a margarita to drown your sorrows. And I love hot dogs...all my friends think I'm odd and always ask if I know how they are made. Sigh. Life is messy I tell them.

So why don't you have an iPhone? Then you'd have interwebs wherever you go.

I must be staying at all the wrong places...Free internet, clean mattresses..oh wait, that's just my house.

I never go anywhere.

They don't realize that we choose a hotel for the lovely perks. This is a deal-breaker for us! Thank you for visiting <A HREF="http://mymuskoka.blogspot.com/2010/04/critters-are-busy.html </A>!

When I was in Montreal a couple weeks ago, the hotel I stayed in charged me $13 a day for the 'net.
