High Anxiety

This is the first time I’ve posted twice in one day. I hope I don’t set any nasty non-sustainable precedents here…

The mood in the American Street is of anxiety. I, personally, have staples and scissors coursing through my veins. I’m going to break into a run any minute now, but I’ve no where to go. I know what I want (change!) and I know when I want it (now!) but my wants and needs have been/are/will be inconsequential. Don’t let that “democracy” thing fool you. As someone once said (Stalin?), it’s not who votes but who counts the votes.

Not that we would know anything about that!

By midnight, the U.S. of Bloody A. will have a new president; and how much he differs from the old president – don’t let the door hit you in the butt on the way out! – remains to be seen.

Send cards and flowers.

Strange thing is Pearl the whole world has the scissors waiting. I just got an email from a friend in Wales to say he was staying up to watch it on TV and its 1.30am there. It will be fine. Truly!!! We had change of government this year after 8 years and it is wonderful. It will happen. Put the scissors away and replace it with champagne!!

Who ever it is, will have their hands full. I think there will be change no matter which, but I don't think we will see the effects of that change for a little while. I have my fingers and toes crossed also, along with I'm sure the large majority of the US. I just keep thinking positive, and hoping for the best of change.
